The National Housing Authority (NHA) and TAF Africa Global have taken a significant step toward transforming Liberia’s housing sector by strengthening a strategic partnership aimed at expanding affordable housing opportunities across the country. This landmark disclosure was made on Thursday, April 9, 2026, during a high-level media briefing held at the NHA headquarters in Monrovia, where TAF Africa Global’s Executive Director, Mustapha Njie, unveiled the company’s ambitious plan to expand its housing investment footprint into Liberia.

This development is being widely viewed as a major boost to President Joseph Nyuma Boakai’s broader vision of attracting strategic foreign direct investment while tackling Liberia’s long-standing housing deficit. Speaking confidently during the engagement, Mr. Njie disclosed that TAF Africa Global, recognized as one of West Africa’s leading real estate development firms, is moving swiftly to establish full operations in Liberia following productive high-level discussions with the Liberian Government. He noted that the expansion initiative follows a formal invitation extended by President Boakai, with the process coordinated through Liberia’s Special Presidential Envoy on Investment, Ambassador Mohammed Bah.

Njie described the discussions with the President as highly fruitful, noting that both parties have already reached important understandings that pave the way for the company’s official entry into Liberia’s real estate and housing market. He explained that TAF Africa Global is currently working on critical legal documentation, operational frameworks, and implementation modalities necessary to launch what is expected to become one of Liberia’s most impactful private-sector housing investments in recent years. Mr. Njie stated that the engagement with the Government of Liberia has been very successful, and the focus is now on putting in place the right structures and documentation to begin implementation.

A major highlight of the proposed collaboration is the Liberian Government’s commitment to provide land for the development projects, signaling strong political will and a serious approach to partnering with reputable international investors to address national development priorities. Mr. Njie further revealed that assessment work has already been conducted in Bentol, with preliminary groundwork reportedly underway as an indication that the project is steadily moving beyond the planning stage. The initiative is expected to significantly strengthen Liberia’s efforts to reduce its housing shortage while opening new pathways for urban development, infrastructure expansion, and modern community growth.

Beyond the physical construction of homes, the investment is being celebrated as a strategic intervention capable of restoring hope for thousands of Liberians, especially those in the diaspora. Njie emphasized that one of the central goals of the project is to provide affordable, transparent, and accessible homeownership opportunities for Liberians living abroad, many of whom have long struggled with land disputes, fraudulent property deals, and poor construction standards when attempting to invest back home. The planned entry of TAF Africa Global is therefore being welcomed as a credible and trusted alternative that could restore confidence among overseas Liberians seeking quality homes in their homeland. By introducing professionally managed and affordable housing schemes, the company hopes to make homeownership easier for diaspora Liberians while also boosting the national economy through remittances and real estate investments.

Also speaking at the media briefing, NHA Managing Director Florence K. Geebae described the partnership as a game-changing opportunity for inclusive national development. According to Madam Geebae, the NHA already has a strong network of engineers, architects, masons, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, transport operators, and material suppliers who will play critical roles in the success of the project. She stressed that the housing development is expected to create a wide chain of economic activities capable of stimulating multiple sectors of the Liberian economy while directly benefiting low-income earners and business people alike.

Madam Geebae emphasized that the project is not only about houses but also about creating jobs, transferring skills, and building economic confidence among Liberians. The NHA Managing Director noted that housing remains one of Liberia’s most urgent development priorities and this initiative presents a major opportunity to expand access for low-income families while promoting dignified living standards. Importantly, the construction phase is expected to prioritize Liberian workers, ensuring that the benefits of the investment directly reach ordinary citizens through employment, skills transfer, and local enterprise participation.

The expansion comes at a crucial time when Liberia continues to face rising demand for decent and affordable housing, particularly in Monrovia and surrounding urban communities where rapid population growth continues to put pressure on existing infrastructure. Experts believe that the entrance of a major regional real estate developer like TAF Africa Global could introduce modern housing models, innovative financing systems, and efficient project delivery mechanisms that have already delivered success in other African countries.

Although the exact location of the proposed site and the total value of the investment are yet to be disclosed, Madam Geebae assured the public that those details will be finalized following a comprehensive technical assessment. She explained that the total cost will depend largely on prevailing market prices for building materials, logistics, and labor costs in Liberia, with the assessment phase designed to ensure affordability, sustainability, and international construction standards.

The announcement has already generated excitement across Liberia’s business, housing, and diaspora communities, many of whom see the investment as a strong sign of growing international confidence in the Boakai administration’s economic diplomacy and private-sector engagement strategy. For many observers, the partnership between the NHA and TAF Africa Global may well mark the beginning of a new era in Liberia’s real estate sector—one defined by trust, affordability, job creation, and inclusive national growth. As both sides finalize the remaining modalities, expectations continue to rise that this ambitious initiative will soon move from planning to groundbreaking, bringing with it new homes, new jobs, and renewed hope for Liberians both at home and abroad.
