Work is set to begin on repairing a dangerous stretch of road in Weala, Margibi County, bringing long-awaited relief to residents who have raised serious safety concerns about the area. The project is being handled by Modern Development Management Corporation (MDMC), a private firm contracted by the Ministry of Public Works. Preliminary assessments are already underway, with full rehabilitation scheduled to start on Monday, April 13, 2026. The d@maged section, widely described by locals as a “death trap,” will undergo a complete overhaul, including excavation, replacement of the road base, and repaving. Project supervisor Nyen Nyeneh confirmed that the existing structure will be entirely removed and rebuilt using proper materials to ensure durability and prevent future collapse.
