Why Africa?
Abundance in resources
Africa has abundance in resources and reserves. Africa has 10% of the world's oil reserves, the supplies 8% of the world¡¯s gas, 60% of the world's diamond share, other precious metals such as gold, as well as other nonferrous metals have been stored substantially. However, a resource that has been overlooked is the human resource. With lots of human resources, developer has their eyes on Africa. Africa has the 800 million people. China, India, part of the BRIC nations, prepare for increasing labor costs.
The World is Lining Up to Invest
Most of African countries are under developed. They are receiving ODA (Official Development Assistance) from OECD. Tens of billions of dollars a year of funding supports Africa. In addition, Africa is constantly being invested in from other countries, particularly China, are moving briskly.

Since independence, West Africa has suffered from the same problems as much of the African continent, particularly dictatorships, political corruption and military coups. At the time of his death in 2005, for example, Togo's Etienne Eyadema was among the world's longest-serving dictators. Inter-country conflicts have been few, with Mali and Burkina Faso's nearly bloodless Agacher Strip War being a rare exception. The region has, however, seen a number of bloody civil wars, including the Nigerian Civil War (1967-1970), two civil wars in Liberia in 1989 and 1999, a decade of fighting in Sierra Leone from 1991-2002, a Tuareg Rebellion in Niger and Mali in the early 1990s, and an ongoing conflict in Cote d'Ivoire that began in 2002.
In the 1990s, AIDS became a significant problem for the region, particularly in Cote d'Ivoire, Liberia, and Nigeria.
Famine has been an occasional but serious problem in northern Mali and Niger, particularly during the Sahel drought of the 1970s and 80s. Niger is currently undergoing another food crisis that could develop into another major famine.
While many countries suffered from the civil war, the UN's efforts to came into the 21st century with a lot of political stabilization. In 2006, 21 countries held democratic elections.
Nigeria is Africa's largest oil-producing country and Cote d'Ivoire is famous for producing the largest cocoa. West African countries produce oil, gas, energy resources and mine coal, gold, diamonds and other precious metals, copper, aluminum and other natural resources, including non-ferrous metals. In addition, 60 percent of the population is under age 20, West African population is abundant with potential labor.
These economic and political situation, led to real economic growth rate above 6 percent, and in some countries the double-digit growth rates observed, such growth still continues.
